That's the joy awaiting in this enchanting outdoor adventure, led by Jennileen Joseph—owner of Sastimos Holistic Health, certified herbalist, Ayurvedic practitioner, and seasoned nanny with over 20 years of childcare experience. Tailored to spark wonder in little hearts, this seasonally inspired, child-led series invites exploration, growth, and pure delight through hands-on, nature-infused learning.

As a drop-off group, it gives kids the freedom to dive deep—building real relationships with each other and the earth, without distractions, for that ultimate sense of independence and immersion. And here's the science-backed bonus: Time outdoors naturally calms the nervous system and boosts focus, creating a nurturing haven where young explorers truly thrive!

What Kids Will Experience

  • Child-led play: Running, jumping, singing, and free movement in nature.

  • Seasonal discoveries: Learning about local plants, their environmental roles, and simple medicinal uses.

  • Foundational awareness: Exploring cardinal directions, discovering how the sun and moon’s positions reveal the time of day, and understanding our interconnected place in the ecosystem.

  • When: Thursdays, 10am-12pm for 4 weeks (Feb 19 - Mar 12, 2026).

  • Where: Concord CA at Markham Nature Park and Arboretum and Lime Ridge Open Space (2 weeks each).

  • Group Size: Small and personalized—up to 4 children.

  • Eligibility: Open to potty-trained kids (ages 3.5-5) who can walk independently. Snacks provided!

With over 30 years of experience weaving together her roles as a certified herbalist, Ayurvedic practitioner, devoted bonus mother, and dedicated childcare professional, Jennileen brings a unique and deeply nurturing approach to guiding young children in nature. For decades, Jennileen has worked as a private nanny, caring for children of all ages with particular depth among preschoolers, while actively raising her bonus daughter and teaching holistic health and herbalism at the University of New Mexico and the Albuquerque School of Healing Arts. Her background in Ayurveda and plant medicine perfectly informs her gentle, child-led facilitation style, helping little ones explore seasonal plants, their environmental roles, and simple medicinal uses in a safe, joyful way. Trained in active listening and skilled at creating supportive group experiences, Jennileen fosters authentic connections—to the earth, to each other, and to each child’s innate curiosity and wonder.
